As we continue in our series, Foundations of Grace, we thought it would be helpful to provide you with recommendations for Scripture Memory Verses.  Admittedly, our aim is rather high, and will be quite challenging.  However, you can modify the verses that we recommend with your own selections.  The point is to impress the Scriptures that we are learning on Sunday mornings on our minds and hearts.  Often Scripture memory programs focus on a large number of individual verses throughout the Bible, without teaching the principles that are contained in the verses.  Or worse yet, teaching principles that actually weren’t intended in the context of the passage.  As we memorize larger portions of Scripture we have the benefit of reinforcing the doctrinal truths covered in the Sunday Morning.  We are particularly excited about the prospects of memorizing large portions of the Book of Genesis and the Book of Romans, because these books are foundational books that cover a broad range of crucial doctrines for the Christian faith.  Below are the memory verses for the next several weeks.  Again, depending on age levels and other verse memory programs that you may be involved in, you can choose portions of what is listed below.  I have also prepared verse memory cards for you, if this is a help to you: Verse Memory Cards  The schedule on the memory cards is organized for every three days.  This will put you ahead of our preaching schedule, and allow for you to catch up, or add other verses as you see fit.  Or you can go to the website yourself and make verse memory cards with the verses that you choose for your family: http://www.mcscott.org/
